Oxygen Forensic Suite 2012 Adds Key Evidence Analysis, Supports The New iPad and 700 new devices

Oxygen Software updates Oxygen Forensic Suite 2012, the company’s flagship mobile forensic tool, adding new data carving and analysis functionality and extending the range of supported devices by nearly 700 models. The newly added Key Evidence section offers clean, uncluttered view of essential evidence, allowing investigators marking certain artifacts and events as “important” in various other sections, then reviewing selected evidence all at once in a single section.

From compatibility standpoint, the updated Oxygen Forensic Suite 2012 now supports The new iPad, nearly 600 Mediatek-based Chinese branded phones, as well as about 100 Android devices that are new on the market. Today, Oxygen Forensic Suite 2012 boosts the number of recognized mobile devices to nearly 4,200.

New in Oxygen Forensic Suite 2012 v.4.2:

  • Added support for more than 600 Chinese-branded mobile devices based on Mediatek chipset including Nokla, Nckia, Nktel, Nony, Nova, Nexian, Novo,  Narnia, Nasaki,TV-Mobile and Tvmobile ‘Fake Nokia’ phones, Samkung, Samsong, Samsonic and Samskin ‘Fake Samsung’ phones,  Suny-ericssom ‘Fake Sony Ericsson’ phones, HTC fake and Alcatel, Fly, Huawei, Motorola, Philips and Pantech MTK-based feature phones.
  • Added support for more than 100 new Android OS devices.

  • Added preliminary support for Android OS 4.0.
  • Added Key Evidence section. The new section displays device events that were marked as important by the investigator in one of the following sections: Phonebook, Calendar, Messages, Dictionaries, Web Connections and Location Services, etc. Available in Analyst license.
  • Device Logs. Added support for Blackberry devices.
  • Desktop. Added Productivity (Business) group containing subsections for popular productivity applications such as Dropbox, Evernote, Remember The Milk. Available in Analyst license.
  • Productivity (Business). Added support for Evernote application for iOS devices. Displays device owner’s notes with time stamps and geo coordinates, account information, etc. Available in Analyst license.

  • Calendar. Fixed a phenomenon of incorrectly displaying birthdays  from Apple devices.
  • Dictionaries. Fixed a phenomenon where Unicode words were not shown on the Phrase simulation panel for Blackberry devices.
